Indonesia Economic Outlook 2009 (2): BI Rate 6-8%

In my opinion, the Central Bank will not put the rate into a high rate in 2009. There is a huge spread between BI Rate and that of the US, which could support weaker US$ to Rupiah. However, businesses may not like this situation when Rupiah gets stronger so quickly. Therefore, the Central Bank needs to control its rate by lowering it to the level where business could be done normally.
